Sydney Pollock (July 1, 1934 – May 26, 2008) was Sandford Meisner's assistant for 5 years, he went onto direct films such as Out of Africa, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Tootsie, The Interpreter and as producer for and actor in Michael Clayton. He talks here about working with actors using the Meisner technique and how Burt Lancaster picked up it.
